Types of NFU Watercress Association Membership

Ordinary Member

The National Farmers Union Watercress Association (NFUWA) offers Ordinary Grower Membership to all watercress farmers in the UK. The membership cost is based on the production area in the UK and application forms are available on our contacts page. There is a Compliance declaration to be completed annually alongside contact and production area updates.

Associated Member

This free membership is for packers, manufacturers, scientists, restaurants, food writers, and anyone interested in having contact with the Watercress Association updates. we are very proud of our connections and encourage anyone invested in watercress to join.

Benifits of Joining NFUWA

Currently (for 2023-24) the basic sub would be £227 plus a production element which for watercress is set at £7.12 for 1/8 of an acre.
NFU Council recently agreed an inflationary increase of 2% across the board for the 2024-25 year (1st Nov 2024 – 31 Oct 2025). subscription
This is a free of charge membership to gain updates and access to Ordinary Grower Members . Suitable for marketing Organisations, packers and journalists. Contact us for an application form.
An an ordinary Member you will have access to advice and support form Primary Authority
If you have beds and require advice on whether they are suitable for production of watercress you can contact us for advice and consultancy through a member
The association Members combined produce in excess of 60t of watercress weekly for sale in UK and EU. the members list is there to allow you to find the right grower to deliver the specification and quantity needed.
Our members are fully audited to the TSG standard and comply with our Code of production. we encourage any concerns regarding food safely to be reported so Trading Standards ND Food Standards Agency can investigate.
