About Us

The NFU Watercress Branch, now known as the Watercress Association, was established in 1955 following the collaboration of growers to improve awareness of production developments. The Organisation had close ties with the NFU that date back 1917.

The NFIU had 2 principal objectives, to ensure watercress was grown to a code of practice and safe to consume and to promote it members.

Our members have a long and special relationships with their watercress beds, here are some of their stories.

  • The Watercress Company

    “Established in 1994 when Sylvasprings and Golden Springs were merged. This progressive company grows on 19Ha in the UK and 19 Ha in Jerez Spain”
