About Us

The NFU Watercress Branch, now known as the Watercress Association, was established in 1955 following the collaboration of growers to improve awareness of production developments. The Organisation had close ties with the NFU that date back 1917.

The NFIU had 2 principal objectives, to ensure watercress was grown to a code of practice and safe to consume and to promote it members.

Our members have a long and special relationships with their watercress beds, here are some of their stories.
